Robert experienced success as a student in the 1970s, winning all his Music College competitions for String and Chamber music playing.
He has worked with over 30 Symphony and Chamber orchestras, performing all over the world.
Delivering Masterclasses throughout Europe, USA, China, Cyprus and Australia, Robert was the Artistic Director of ‘Music in Tuscany, the Centre for Chamber music excellence in Italy from 2005-2011.

In addition to teaching violin and viola at his studio in Bath, Robert also teaches at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama Junior Department in London.
Many of his students are now working with the world’s leading orchestras and musicians.
Robert teaches violin and viola to students from age 7 to professional standard and also helps other teachers to hone their violin and viola teaching skills.

Luke, aged 9 - now 31
I began teaching my son Luke at the age of 5 directly on the viola (actually, a quarter-size violin with viola strings).
He progressed quickly and by the age of 9 won a prize for he highest mark in the country for his grade 7.
At 18 Luke went to study in Berlin, and having graduated, is working with the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra and other orchestras in Germany.
Luke is also the violist in the award-winning ARNON QUARTET and was for 4 years a member of the Staascapelle DRESDEN Orchestra. Now the 1st Solo Viola of the Gewandhaus Orchestra, Leipzig
